I have to say I just find how the following works kinda weird:
It takes not having any feelings and being an evil person to learn the ‘lesson’ to ignore others who are suffering obviously (for example, I won’t cry if someone I hate dies without me knowing anything about the circumstances surrounding their death. But if I can do something to help that person and I don’t, I will feel guilty. And not just for them but also for the people who loved them. I wanted to address a couple points that have been and will most likely be brought up by other commenters:
I know a lot of blind people like him. Hospital rooms are usually arranged similarly and simply so blind people should be able to get around easily in them. And he’s most likely been in a hospital before. Anyways, when he first went to give her water by mouth he did have at least some difficulty finding her lips. You can also tell how someone is positioned by their voice. Besides that he would also already know that she’s situated on the hospital bed. And that she can’t move much. From there it’s not hard to guess pretty closely to where she, and more specifically her mouth, is, especially when it’s the second time around and he had his hand on her chin.
Of course the author may not be thinking about these things at all but it still doesn’t mean he’s faking blindness. This is a comic. It’s not going to showcase everything completely realistically.
